What's happening this week

I’m moving back into the gallery Monday, hanging incredible new art Tuesday and ART WALK on Wednesday!!

We’ll have photos and art by Matthew Winghart, John Kuss and Robert Jamason. Really great stuff, so don’t miss it!

Matthew Winghart, Jacksonville Beach

We will also still have Kathleen Malings gators available – gorgeous work for any fan of Florida (UF) or Florida in general.

The Riverside Arts Market Art Gallery will be open for Art Walk in Hemming Plaza, don’t miss that either. There’s just so much to do and see downtown these days!

Plus, I’m going to a figure drawing session at 111 E.Bay St. studios tomorrow night ::sigh:: I love figure drawing. It will be really good to get back into drawing again.

RAM Seminar at the Gallery today

Teri Coutu, Director for the Riverside Arts Market, asked me if I would host a business seminar in the gallery and of course I said “Yes!”

So, we set up the gallery this afternoon and had a pretty good crowd and learned a lot from Gloria Danvers.

They’ve taught you to paint it, to draw it, to mold it, to bead it, carve it and weld it…but who’s teaching you how to sell it?

RAM is happy to partner with Gloria Danvers and Elemental Gallery & Studio to present this free workshop designed to teach you how to see more financial rewards from your art!

Gloria, a St.Augustine Artist, and the author of the soon to be released E-book, “The Art of Business in the Business of Art” will take you on a two hour tour through the ideas, attitudes and sales techniques that she employs to be one of the consistently highest grossing Artists in her medium on the Art show circuit. Her lifetime experiences as an accessories designer, retail store and gallery owner, wholesale artist and show artist have given her valuable and profitable insights into the Art business, which she is happy to share with other Artists. “Who ever is telling you it’s not about the money, is not making a living as an Artist” Give yourself the gift of this unique learning experience and let Gloria empower you in the Art of selling your own Art!

It was a lot of fun to meet everyone and learn from a really great person. I hope to be able to host more events like this!

New piece in the works

I have a new piece in the making. I’ll be adding glass to the copper in the picture. I’m really excited about how this will turn out. It’s experimental, so it’s extra intriguing!

I will also have my first set of work for Desert Bus. images will be forth coming.

Sent out and posted the press release for November’s Art Walk. Should be a cool exhibit. Remember, the gallery will be closed next week from Monday 10/25 to Monday 11/1. We’ll be back in motion setting up for Art Walk on Tuesday!

RAM Art Gallery was a Success!

This past Saturday we opened the Riverside Arts Market Art Gallery and it was extremely well attended and we sold 20 Squares for a total of $1,155! That money goes straight to the artists – no commission, etc.

Ben'H Usry visits the RAM Art Gallery

This week at Elemental Gallery & Studio I’m going to start firing up the kilns! I had all the electrical circuitry checked out and I don’t need to change a thing! I even discovered I can track-light the heck out of the place, as I have tracks all over. I’m very excited.

Upcoming for November’s Art Walk: Movember: Men’s Cancer Awareness. To celebrate we are contacting some of our man-friends who are artists & photographers. I will keep you updated on our progress.

For December, it’s Top Hats and Tails, and a Dressage convention (woot, horses!). But I think I will focus on holiday lights. I’m in the planning stages now, and will announce it soon.

Hispanic Heritage – Art Walk, this Wednesday

You need to drop by the gallery this Wednesday (day after tomorrow!) during Art Walk. This month’s theme is Hispanic Heritage. The variety of work and food that will be available will be incredible! From native art to contemporary, there is a rich tradition to draw inspiration from in the Hispanic community.

I will be out of the gallery early tomorrow, closing at 1:00. But I will definitely be back later that day, and with fabulous new hair courtesy of Corrie Bunnell at Lockstar on Stockton St. Corrie is a rad & fab stylist and colorist I met a couple of years ago. Can’t say enough good about her.

Wednesday evening will be amazing! See you there!
