Back at the Gallery

It was a great day today. I’m so excited to start pumping out work. I am also going to have my store up and ready by Monday – woohoo! Just need that SSL and Static IP.

Maggie is discovering her own addiction to glass – can’t wait to get the lampwork going for her. She really enjoys the more hands-on process of flame work than kiln work. Exciting days ahead!!

I’ll try to post some pics of experiments tomorrow or Friday.

Back to work!

Sorry the gallery has been having quirky hours – all of us had lots going on that was previously scheduled, and it all happened to occur in the last 2-3 weeks.

We will definitely have regular hours at the Landing starting Wednesday of next week (May 26th), so please stop by for a visit.

And don’t forget our Raffle on June 2nd’s Art Walk @ 8:00 p.m.!

Art Walk – Success!

Art Walk was a success!! We had more people come in and see our work than I expected. Everybody enjoyed themselves and my “virgin white sangria.” Plus, I got to show off my new kiln and first art piece made in it:

Here it is again, with me and the kiln:

Thanks to everyone who helped and came by! And don’t forget the raffle!

Lock problems…no problem

I had to fix my own lock today at the Gallery. A HUGE thank you to Knowell Lock & Safe on Blanding for helping over the phone for FREE.

A great big raspberry to Jacksonville Locksmith who couldn’t bother to call me back until I called 4 times and then couldn’t be there until tomorrow.

Test firing the new kiln tomorrow. Stop by if you want to take a peek. I’ll be there from 11-2 for sure, and maybe earlier/later if I really get into it.

The new Kiln

I have a brand spankin’ new Olympic 146GFE glass kiln and it’s been installed, plugged in and turned on. Now I have to study the manual on the temperature controller to get it to fire perfectly. I also have to keep detailed notes on what I am firing and how I am firing it.

I ordered a cutting system yesterday and I am picking some lampworking equipment today. Yesterday 3 of the 4 artists were in the gallery and it’s going to be a good, good mix.

We’ll be open for Art Walk, Wednesday May 5 from 5-9pm. Please come down and say hello. We’ll have art on the walls and that’s about it. Plus munchies :)
